Black bookcase!

This simple bookcase has served as my entertainment center for about four years. The height of the two shelves can be adjusted to accommodate books, games, vinyl, a television or stereo, you name it! It has a few dings and scratches, but nothing so hideous I was unable to feature it in my living room.

Bookcase: $15

Vintage Bedroom Set!!

This combination of dresser, mirror, and two identical night stands was issued by the Detroit Furniture Distribution Company, Inc. in the mid-to-late 1960's. Let me be clear about this: I LOVE THIS FURNITURE. There is positively no room for it in my new digs, but it is wonderful and I hope that you will be able to incorporate it into your home with the same loving reverence and hushed sense of wonder that I once did.

Or, you know, at least give it a rub-down with some Murphy's once in a while.

The dresser also serves as a vanity when the matching mirror is placed atop it, as pictured above. The left side of the dresser features adorable little accordion doors to keep your delicates and unmentionables hidden from common view. The top of the piece is an excellent place to store decorative cosmetic or perfume bottles, jewelry, board games or all of the books you've been meaning to read before bed. The drawers on the right side of the dresser are deeper than those on the left side.
Measures 68"L X 19"W X 32"H.

The matching night stands are rather adorable, but also practical: offering not only drawer space but a respectable amount of cabinet real estate. The shelf created by the space between the shelf and the drawer is a perfect haven for tissue boxes, aromatic candles (use responsibly, don't burn the house down) or that last glass of water before lights out - use a coaster for authentic 1960's charm! (Also because you should always use protection. C'mon.) Measures 21"L X 21"W X 25"H

Dresser: $100
Night stands: $50 each
Buy the set for $175

New Art!!

This framed original features black, white and red pastels on paper to give the three-dimensional effect of a woman brooding in the shadows. A great gift for that friend or family member going through his/her emo or goth phase. It also happens to be in a really nice frame.

Emo Portrait and/or Nice Frame: $20

Musical Instruments!

You wanna talk nerdy? This little stunner is a Kurzweil K2000, a synth workstation originally released in 1991. The K2000 is a beast of a modular synth that is extremely versatile when it comes to generating and modifying sound; I have personally used it to emulate the sounds of The Cars, The Beach Boys, ABBA, Journey, and the organ at Madison Square Garden, to name a few. It is capable of poly- and monophonic synthesis, as well as velocity sensitivity and a full range of envelope and sequencer settings. The synth shown above comes pre-loaded with hundreds of sounds and voices for you to play around with. I will also pack it up in a soft-sided SKB case to make sure you can get it home safely!

This synth is great for folks in cover bands, people building or expanding their own studios, and artists creating EDM musicscapes.

No cutesy-tootsy descriptions here: this board is no-nonsense.

(As a heads-up: most of the keys have yellowed a bit in the past 24 years. They are still stable and solid, and all of the components of the synth are in good health and working order.)

Kurzweil K2000 & SKB Case: $450

I've got a Gibson without a case, but I can't get that even-tanned look on my face because it is almost Labor Day and summer is practically over.

But regardless of the weather you will always feel warm and fuzzy with this little beauty at your side. This Epiphone Les Paul Special is a solid-body electric with a tobacco sunburst finish and a really nice, well-rounded tone. Admittedly, the pick-ups aren't anything especially fancy, but somebody with skill and/or resources could easily upgrade them. Alternatively, this is a really wonderful guitar for a beginner-to-intermediate player looking to expand into new territory. I am reluctant to let it go, but we have outgrown each other and it's time for us to start seeing other people.

Since electric guitars are far too quiet without an amplifier for company, I will pair this one with a Fender Frontman rehearsal/travel amp. Great for practicing and establishing your signature sound!

Epiphone Les Paul Special & Fender Frontman Amp: $75

AWESOME 80's Hot Rollers!!!

First of all, these Clairol Lock 'n' Roll hot rollers do still work - and I will wax nostalgic about how great they are in a minute - but even if they didn't the FABULOUS 80's aesthetic alone would be worth investing in.

Seriously, if you don't appreciate the Jem & The Holograms-esque instruction manual or product photos reminiscent of Designing Women, I'm not sure we can be friends.

So the rad thing about these rollers is that they are made of silicon, and after you've wound your silky tendrils around a curler, you flip it inside out and it holds the hair in place. No clips, no getting your hair all snagged up, no hot metal to burn your scalp on. And these buggers work. I have used them for countless weddings, parties, and theatrical events. These days, my hair has just gotten too long/thick to use them effectively so I have switched over to a curling wand. I struggled with the decision to let these go, but I need to make room so my loss is your gain.

Full disclosure: these puppies do take a while to heat up. Luckily there is a handy red indicator dot on the base to let you know when it's ready.

Clairol Lock 'n' Roll Set (with 8 additional curlers, apparently a $10 value in 1989): $10

Shoes!!

Ah, one of the hardest parts of moving: deciding which of your precious possessions needs to move along so you won't someday be found expired in your new apartment, suffocated under 34 pounds of stuff you may or may not have needed in the first place.

And what could be more precious to a lady than her shoes?
Well, maybe her books. (Did I mention I'm giving away free books? Because yes, I own that many.)
Or her video games.

Anyway, buy these shoes!

These black peep-toes were purchased to wear to a wedding. They looked great, but unfortunately I have really had no other reason to wear them for the last four years, and so on my shoe tree they have lived ever since. Take them home, make them live again! Show them the exciting nightlife I just never really had the gumption to seek. (Or, should I say shoe them the exciting nightlife...? No, you're right, I shouldn't. Moving on!) Size 7W.

These brown kitten heels were, you guessed it, purchased for another wedding and only worn once.
Please save me from my shame. Buy these shoes. Size 7.5

These shoes! Oh man, these shoes! I wanted them to fit so badly. They are amazing. They are made by Sofft shoes, which are perhaps the most comfortable shoes made in the Western world. These ones were a half-size too small for me when I bought them, but I thought if I reeeeally believed in them, they would magic themselves to fit my feet.

The ingrates let me down.

But if you have slightly tinier feet than myself, treat yourself to these shoes! Minimal wear, adorable leather flower accents, great for the office or for that friend's wedding you know is inevitably coming up... Size 6.5

Black Peep-Toes: $10
Brown Kitten Heels: $15
Sofft Shoes: $15
